As an author selling books on Amazon, one thing that really sucks is: Amazon has all my data and they won’t give it to me!

Well, okay, it’s their data and I’m just a vendor, really, but still …

Anyway, one of the things I’d like to be able to do is download the sales rank history for my books, which Amazon doesn’t accommodate. They’ll show it to us in Author Central, but there’s no file download for me to slice and dice and analyze the data.

So I wrote a little bookmarklet that will grab the data from the Author central page and download it as a comma-delimited file: Download My Ranks

To use, drag that link to your bookmarks bar, then go to Author Central.

View your book’s rank history as you normally would, then click the new bookmarklet “Download My Ranks” in your bookmark bar.

You’ll get a file called <yourASIN>.csv, which will have all your rank history, by date, and whether that day was free or paid.
